ahhh... a week later

So Phantom of the Opera ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The Christine they had was a little weak but the other two maim characters(Raoul and the Phantom) were FANTASTIC!!! the Phantom's voice was sooooooooooooo smooooooooooooooth!!  Very long line for the bathroom though. but I didn't miss anything - I didn't buy anything either, they had some cute shirts but I'm NOT spending 25/35 dollars for a T-Shirt that has a mask with Phantom of the Opera written underneath it.  Merrrr.

The house is coming along nicely - we have some pictures to hang up but it's arranged in a very pleasing manner to us now.  The allergy season is flaring up on me and I don't get a whole lot of relief at home because we have birds now... I don't like feathers. grrrrrrr

Let see what else.... Oh this past Thursday I took my cousin Marie and her friend Lizzie to a free movie "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" and then we went to lunch at Culvers - very nice place good food - I'd rather have crunchyer fries but such is life. Then we went rollar skating at Great Skate for the open skate for about 3 hours. I couldn't skate because I hurt my knee.

So here's the whole sob story: The previous Thursday I had taken her to Six Flags I think my shoes were bad or I just walked around too much because my knee hurt a little bit on Friday but no biggie. Then on Sat it hurt more but I thought that was from the humidity - it was supposed to storm. Then on Sun it still hurt but not as much. Then on Monday it still kinda hurt but by now I'm used to it but I thought I shouldn't go to Theriputic Horsemanship becasue all the walking wouldn't be good but I thought the exercise might, so I went and we went on three trail rides which is worse than trotting because there are hills -  stupid hills. So on Tuesday I could barely walk!!!!!!!!!! and I told my chiropractor and he told me to come back on Wed. to see the other Dr. in the office for a consult type of thing. So on Wed I went in and he exercised it and gave it some kind of massage therapy - hot doc touching my leg, yes please (calm down he is totally professional - but I can dream!) and that night if I had seen him I would have decked him!  I was in agonizing pain - worse than on Tuesday when I could barely walk.  Now my knees usually hurt but this time they hurt so much I was sobbing (part of that was due to my dog - explination later in blog) and it really worried my parents.  Now on Tuesday I thought I would just pick up a letter of recommendation for an Orthopedic doctor - expensive but part of our Health Insurance plan so maybe not too bad, but my Chiro wanted to try this instead which I agreed to because it was going to be less expensive. So on Thursday I could walk with less pain but I still wasn't close to 50% so I went back that night and he did it again. So on Friday it felt better - probably about 80% and today it feels about 90% better.  So I'll go back again on Monday for him to do it again and maybe it will be 100% better, but I doubt it because I'll be going back to TH (the horse thing) on Monday night.... we'll see.

So my dog (this is turning into a really long blog....) is old and starting to get real sickly. She was pacing around for two nights straight and whining so my Mom took her to the vet and they x-rayed her and found out that her stomache is full of tumors as well as a tumor(not sure if it is cancerous or not) mass growing next to her heart, her heart is enlarged, she has arthritis in her back and her kidney's are starting to fail.  (She was very healthy for most of her life) So we talked and we didn't want her to suffer so we decided to have her put down . So my mom was going to do it on Thursday and I wouldn't be able to be there because I had to babysit my cousin. So I'm all depressed on Thrusday, and that night my mom calls and lets me know that she couldn't do it. Tinkerbell is still happy to see everybody and still wagging her tail and despite her arthritis she still jumps up onto the couch, and she is eating just fine despite the tumors in her stomache. So the vet talked her out of it plus she wasn't ready anyway - so now I'm happy that I still have my dog but sad because .... she is going to start suffering more which I don't want. Surgery is out of the question 1. she is too old, 2. the vet told her that if Tink had been human and they operated and saw all the tumors in her stomache - they would have closed her back up without doing anything. So *sigh* we have her for a little while longer.

Let's see what else can I babble on about... yesterday I saw Shakespere in the Park - Julius Ceaser - very good. I had never seen it before and was suprised by the ending but then I thought "It is supposed to be a tragedy..." and the second half is soo "gay". I know that sounds very sterotypical but seriously if you see/read the second half the guys turn gay it's strange... but still good.

and now my wrists hurt and I think this was my longest blurb ever!  but I have a lot stored up during a week sometimes - no update next week as I will be going to Chicago to see the King Tut exhibit!!!!! YEAH!!!  so we'll see when we'll be updating again - and yes that is the royal "we" as I am the "princess".  teehee

Ta Ta for now

smurfs!

Today is ... Saturday, probably the only day I will be ever updating... until I get my office set up which is looking to be later and later....

So on Thursday I went to Six Flags with my eight year old cousin (I'm watching her on my days off) and we were there for about 5hours. The first ride we went on made me nauseous for the rest of the day - I thought I was getting old becasue I never use to get motion sick but I talked to some other people who had been on it before and they said they were sick after riding the Xcaliber - twisty flingy upsidedown thing. Then we went on all the coasters a couple of different times each. She loved the boss - my favorite is still Ninja.  She was too short to go on Batman by ONE inch!!! so not fair... we also did not go on Mr. Freeze - gave me a migrain when I went on it once - never again! We also did NOT try the new ride Superman because she thought it looked too scary - I think she would have been too short anyway.
I totally need to see my Chiropractor now - those rides are designed to hurt your back!

So it was fun - but I barely ate anything all day which you know that means I felt really sick!

Today I am going to have a BBQ dinner with the rents and brother to celebrate my parents 27or28th wedding aniversary (27 I think...)  Then I'm going to a pajama party at Gomez's - should be fun!

Then on Sunday I'm going to se Phantom of the Opera at the Fox!! I'm sooooooooo excited - I didn't think I would be able to see it because I'm poor but my mommy said she would pay for me!  I should be able to pay her back later.  But I love parts of the movie - other parts piss me off but that's a conversation for a later date.  We do have the cheapest seats but it should still be really cool.

So I'm out of things to write about.... Let me know if you want me to write about anything specific. BYE!

leave me alone - i'm busy

Leave me alone I'm busy, I don't have time to be updating everyday, I have other stuff to do like watch tv and read my books.

So since the last update I have since moved into my house and lived there with my roomates very well for the past twoish month's.  Jenny is hardly ever home as she spends massive amounts of time with her boyfriend (she also got accepted into the ME program at Missou so she can get her library science degree, YEAH JENNY!!)  Saundra works crazy work schdule (1:00pm to 9:30pm it sucks) and since I work during the day I only get to see her at work as I am usually in bed alseep when she gets home, but we do roomate stuff on her days' off. I have Thursdays and Sundays off - hopefully soon the two days will be together - not the actual days that would be bad!  just my days off will be together *hint hint Heather!*

We are slowly but surely getting the house set up and then we will have an open house - I'm totally not planning any of it!! I hate planning parties, I just like going to them.  Only the dining room and my office need to be set up still - but that is uninteresting news and I don't feel like typing about it.

Lets see the job hunt for a teaching job.... is going slow.  I am sending out my resumes to schools I know have openings but so far no call for an interview... *sigh*  If that route doesn't pan out then I'm probably going to go for a Nanny position - a live out position where I don't live with the family.  With me having a degree I would make between 450 and 600 a week, depending on the family.  But a teaching job is first on the agenda!

For the next three Thursdays I will be taking care of my cousin while her parents are at work, after that she has a very busy summer ahead of her.

As for me I am planning to get a six flags season pass and go as often as possible - I still love the Ninja rollar coaster.... strange I hate Ninjas but I love their coasters...*shrug*  I am also going to go to Chicago this summer to see the King Tut exhibit they are having at the Chicago musemum of history(I think that's where it is)  not sure when becasue we are waiting for Eddie and Sara to decide if they want to go.  Other than that I don't have a whole lot of stuff planned except to have as much fun as possible, like every summer.

If you have any ideas I would love to hear them!

been a while

So the house is great - It is a two story brick house with side and back yards.  We are hoping to find some resonably priced lawn furniture so we can sit outside on the porch.  Me and Saundra (shut up english majors) live on the second floor and Jenny got the downstairs room.  It has a walk in closet.  It's nice - opens onto the bathroom downstairs- but I do not want to be on the first floor - the ninjas can get in much easier that way, plus I don't need the closet space.  When we looked at my stuff in the moving van it was kinda pathetic how little stuff I actually have.  We rented a 24ft truck and my stuff didn't even fill a fourth of it.  Saundra and Jenny managed to fill it to the brim, with very little left over space.  Moving day was great because we had a bunch of help,  the second half of the day went off without a hitch.  The first part was a little rocky.

Mom and I put my stuff on the front lawn for easier loading into the van, while Dad went and got said van.  We loaded my stuff up and then went over to Eddie's because he was giving us a chair and a TV - we got this stuff loaded and then the van wouldn't start!!!  We did find another moving van - same length and everything- at another store so we had to run down there and get it, then drive it back to Eddies and unload my stuff from the first into the second and then take it to the new house.  Then we took the now empty truck to Saundra's and Jennys and filled it up again.  So I moved my stuff about 5 times before we got half way through the day!!  I did not do a whole lot of lifting of Saundra's stuff because my arms did not want to cooperate by that time.  But I'm glad we had plenty of help to take up my slack - Dad didn't lift much either for the same reason.

SO House is good, work is good - boring becasue they took my book away so now I'm forced to play geography games on the computer - it's linked to our home page.  So I'm pretty good at the different countries now - I kinda have to relearn them everyday but I knew were Columbia was when I read an article about a guy from there.  I read the news too - shocking huh?  It's crazy what taking my books away will do to me.DON"T TRY IT!!! - I'm applying at various schools so I hopefully won't be there for too much longer - probably stay on the weekends or something...

Mom is starting to pick up business with her quilting - she teaches people how to make t-shirt quilts, you use old t-shirts as blocks instead of making your own. She has had several offers to have her make them for people who go to her class - why they don't make their own after going to her class I don't know but it gets Mom money for doing what she loves so it's all good.  She is hoping to do this until she can make even more money from it but we will have to see.

Dad is still taking pictures like a fiend but he is really getting into fly tyring - make fly's that go on the end of hooks for fisshing.  Don't ask me where he got it I have no idea, one day he suddenly starts watching the fishing and hunting channels, very strange.  He is turning my old room into the computer/fly fishing tying room - started planning it before I was gone!!!  Oh well no going back now.

So now I'm going to stop writing becasue this is a very small monitor and it is hard to see the words.  Especially since I'm so tired so I'm now going to bed and I will see you people later!

hmmm....

So it's been awhile since I wrote on this thing because I was taken off weekends at work and that's where I use to remeber to post because I had people to poke me.

News:
I GOT A HOUSE!!!!! Ok I didn't buy a house but my cousin Saundra and our friend Jenny have found a house that we all really like and there is going to be plenty of space for all of us.  It's a three bedroom brick house over on Hanley close to 40, so easy access to work.  It's in a very not busy neighborhood which is good - not much noise but it is still very close to places we want to go - further into the city.

Other news: I actually faxed my resume to a couple of schools and will be faxing more on Tuesday. I hope I get a couple of interviews but my mom was all gloom and doom about 90% effort and 10% results --- made me sad.  But then I thought it's not like I will be destitute because I have a job - I just don't have a career - a job that a spent a butt load of money getting educated to do!!!

So that's my life right now - packing and freaking out about a job.  Very nerve wrecking (I really wish I could spell - I think that would be a wish from a Genie if I ever found one - then I could enter spelling bee's and win TONS of money....)

now my wrists hurt so I will be seeing you people later.

Q - are Chris and I still coming up there the last weekend in April - are you going to be there?
